Intrauterine Insemination

It is the Assisted Reproduction technique which constitutes the first step in a series of treatments to achieve pregnancy. It should be indicated in young women, a mild male factor, with permeable tubes, couples with less than 7 years of infertility and in couples with sterility of unknown origin.

The objective of this technique is to increase the chances of pregnancy by increasing the number of eggs ready to be fertilized and shortening the path of the sperm to the egg.
It consists of 3 phases:

1. Controlled Ovarian Stimulation.

Which we do by administering medications to induce the maturation of a greater amount of ovules.
We closely monitor vaginal ultrasound every third day to monitor their growth. When we determined the exact moment of the sample placement, we performed sperm training.

2. Sperm training.

It consists in the preparation of the semen sample.
We do this in order to purify this sample with the best sperm that move well and with normal shapes.

3. Insemination.

It is the final step of the treatment and consists of placing the trained sample inside the uterus, we perform it assisted by an abdominal ultrasound in order to ensure that the plastic cannula is in the right place.
It is a procedure that does not represent any pain.
